Specificity (Detailed): Monoclonal mouse anti-prostein has been demonstrated to react with a 21 kDa recombinant prostein fragment and with a 50 kDa doublet present in Western blots of prostein-transfected HEK293 cell lysates. Anti-prostein also detected a 50 kDa doublet in blots of LNCaP and PC3 prostate tumor cell lysates, whereas the antibody was unreactive on Western blots of prostein negative Du145 cells and untransfected HEK293 cells (1). The epitope recognized by anti-prostein was mapped using a series of overlapping peptides spanning the amino acid sequence of the anti-prostein immunogen.
