Specificity (Detailed): The antibody labels free lambda-chains as well as lambda-chains in intact immunoglobulin molecules. Traces of contaminating antibodies have been removed by solid-phase absorption.In double immunodiffusion, a wide specificity for antigenic sites on lambda chains has been ascertained by testing the antibody against a large panel of urines containing lambda Bence Jones protein. The antibody shows well-defined precipitates with all lambda proteins of the panel. Staining: Coomassie Brilliant Blue.In crossed immunoelectrophoresis, using 37.5 uL antibody per cm2 gel area against 2 uL of human plasma and 2 uL of a pool of concentrated Bence Jones urine, one precipitate corresponding to lambda chains appears.
